The Brethren of Legiolium Lodge No. 1542, led by Worshipful Master Bill Waters, joined by W.Brothers Clayforth and Wells from a different lodge, proudly participated in the Remembrance Day parade in Castleford today.
In a solemn tribute, W. Bro. Bill Waters laid a wreath on behalf of Legiolium Lodge No. 1542, honouring the courage and sacrifices of those who served. W. Bro. Martyn Hughes represented Caldaire Lodge No. 9625 in laying a wreath as well, embodying the respect and remembrance shared by all present. The Brethren stood united in reflection and gratitude, paying homage to the fallen and ensuring their legacy endures. Celebrating a Historic Milestone: Welcoming Our New Worshipful Master, W.Bro. William Waters!10/21/2024 Last night marked a momentous occasion for Legiolium Lodge as we welcomed our 150th Worshipful Master, W.Bro. William Waters, into his new role. The installation ceremony, held in true Masonic tradition, was a memorable and meaningful event. The night not only celebrated this important leadership transition but also set the stage for our Lodge’s 150th anniversary next year.
The installation of W.Bro. Bill Waters, who previously served as Senior Warden, was conducted with great dignity and warmth. His journey within Freemasonry has been one of dedicated service, and we are confident that his leadership will guide our Lodge into a prosperous future. His installation as Worshipful Master is an exciting milestone in our Lodge’s rich history. We were honoured to have an esteemed gathering of Masonic dignitaries and brethren in attendance. Among them were two Grand Lodge Officers, as well as W.Bro. Nicholas Doyles ProvSGW, the Personal Representative of the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master. Their presence emphasised the significance of the occasion and reinforced the strong bonds of fellowship and fraternity within our community. Adding to the grandeur of the evening, 28 visiting brethren from various lodges came to support W.Bro. Waters and celebrate with us. We also had the privilege of welcoming a delegation from the Company of Past Provincial Stewards, whose attendance highlighted the wider Masonic community’s dedication to supporting one another. As we look forward to next year’s celebrations of Legiolium Lodge’s 150 years of existence, the installation of our new Worshipful Master marks the beginning of a new chapter—one that honours our proud traditions while looking ahead to continued growth and service. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to W.Bro. William Waters and express our gratitude to all those who attended this momentous event. Here's to many more years of unity, charity, and brotherhood at Legiolium Lodge! As we reflect on another remarkable year, we raise a heartfelt toast to the brotherhood and success we’ve enjoyed together at the lodge. The photo posted above, taken on Scroll Night, is a perfect snapshot of the camaraderie and pride we share as Masons. This evening also marked a significant moment for our lodge, as we officially elected Bro. Bill Waters, SW, as the Master-elect for the upcoming year. We look forward to the leadership and fresh ideas he will bring as Worshipful Master.
Looking back, this year has been filled with growth and achievement. We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming many new members into our ranks, each of whom has brought their unique character and commitment to enrich our lodge. The energy and enthusiasm these new brothers bring are a reminder that the future of Freemasonry remains bright. Our ceremonies throughout the year were meaningful and well-executed, serving not only as a testament to the skill of our officers but also to the dedication of every brother who participates. Each ritual strengthened our bond, reaffirming the values that guide us as Masons. The Festive Boards have been another highlight of the year. Whether filled with joyful laughter or thoughtful conversation, these gatherings are where friendships deepen and the spirit of brotherhood comes alive. The fellowship shared over a meal is a cherished part of our tradition, and we are grateful for the countless memories made around the table. We were also fortunate to welcome a host of visitors throughout the year—both familiar faces and first-time guests. The presence of these brethren from other lodges added a special dimension to our meetings, bringing diverse perspectives and deepening our connections across the Masonic community. As we close this chapter and prepare for the next, we want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this year a success. From the officers to the brethren, visitors, and new members, each one of you has played a part in creating an unforgettable year. Here’s to Bro. Bill Waters, our incoming Worshipful Master, and to many more years of growth, fellowship, and Masonic excellence. The journey ahead is promising, and we can’t wait to share it together as a united brotherhood. Last night marked another splendid and unforgettable evening at Legiolium Lodge No. 1542 as we had the honour of welcoming our newest brother, Bro. Kieron Chadwick, into our fraternal circle. The atmosphere was electric with excitement, camaraderie, and a deep sense of tradition that makes each initiation special.
One of the highlights of the night was the remarkable attendance. We were joined by 12 visitors from 11 different lodges, a true testament to the bonds that unite the Masonic community. The diversity of lodges present only added to the richness of the occasion, as old friendships were rekindled, and new connections were made. Bro. Kieron’s initiation held extra significance as he is a Lewis, a son of a Mason. He was accompanied by his father, which added a beautiful and symbolic layer to the ceremony. We must also acknowledge WBro. Jason Moody, Kieron’s proposer, whose unwavering support and guidance played a pivotal role in bringing him to this moment. His mentorship will surely help shape Bro. Kieron’s journey within the craft. The night didn’t end with the ceremony. As always, the Festive Board that followed was filled with laughter, great food, and the joy of brotherhood. Conversations flowed, new friendships blossomed, and the spirit of Masonry was evident in every smile and handshake. At Legiolium Lodge, we cherish these moments of shared joy and brotherhood. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who attended, especially our visitors, for helping make the night so special. And to Bro. Kieron Chadwick, welcome to the craft—we look forward to walking this path with you. Welcome to the Craft, Brother Geoff!

The 3rd degree, also known as the Sublime Degree of Master Mason, marks the culmination of the initial journey in Freemasonry. It's a ceremony steeped in symbolism and tradition, reminding Masons of the importance of self-improvement, moral responsibility, and contributing to the betterment of society. While the specifics of the ceremony are confidential (think Fight Club, but with aprons and symbolism), I can tell you this: the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie in the room during Keith’s raising was truly palpable. It's a testament to the strong bonds forged within the fraternity, built on shared values and a commitment to personal growth. So, a massive congratulations to Brother Keith on reaching this significant milestone! We're all incredibly proud of you, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you on your continued Masonic journey. P.S. If you're curious about Freemasonry and what it's all about, Keith would be happy to answer any questions you might have, within the bounds of his oath, of course. Just don't ask him to reveal any secret handshakes – those come later ;). #MasterMason #Freemasonry #Brotherhood |
